Friday Fun ~ Free Family Fun ~ Bolsa Chica Eco Reserve ~ Hungtington Beach, CAFriday Fun is a new feature on my Living In So Cal blog. It’s my goal to provide  you with weekly family fun for the week-end, and when possible I’m looking for FREE events in SoCal. If you have any upcoming events on the calendar that you would like to share, please let me know. I’d be happy to provide assistance sharing the new news about your event.

  • My very first FREE event is: The BOLSA CHICA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE.  If you’ve haven’t seen this interesting  place it’s a 300 acre  coasal salt marsh.  The preserved wetlands are FREE and open to the public during daylight hours.  I took this photo from the new bridge over the opening to the inlet.

This is such a wonderful way to introduce kids to nature and help them understand the delicate balance between development and preservation.  And although I listed this as a family event, it’s there for all of us to appreciate and enjoy.

  • As a special treat the preserve also provides tours on the first Saturday of every month between 9:00-10:30 a.m.

To get there head to Pacific Coast Hwy. good ole’ PCH between Golden West and Warner Avenue, in “Surf City U.S.A.” beautiful Huntington Beach.  For more info, call (714) 846-1114.
