Living in So Cal is such a great place! Always so many and fun things to do. The list below is one I’ve compiled today for you to hopefully enjoy in Brea, CA.

Taste of BREA and Downtown Chamber Expo ~ October 10, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Brea’s Chamber Expo featuring city departments, local businesses and non-profit organizations will be on display for chamber members and the general public. In addition you can have the opportunity to enjoy a “Taste of Brea” by sampling some of the cities favorite restaurants. Admission is FREE, “Taste” wrist bands are $10 each. Personal Finances & Credit Workshop ~ October 11, 6:30 p.m. Hold onto that cash! Learn how to save and still spend while avoiding stressful problems. Consumer Credit Counseling representatives will be on hand to help out. Class is held at the Brea Community Center located at 695 E. Madison Way, (located behind the Brea Post Office). Senior Driving Classes ~ October 13, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 Brea’s Senior Center is conducting a driver’s class in safety for seniors. The lass includes reviewing traffic laws and safety techniques especially for seniors. If you’re a senior you will find this session helpful in renewing your license. Fire Station Open House ~ October 13, 10:00 a.m. at Brea’s beautiful new fire station at 200 N. Brea Blvd. Bring the kids, tour the station and experience a behind-the-scenes look into the department. This event is in participation with Fire Prevention Week to inform families about fire safety. This is another FREE event in the City of Brea. Parking directly across the street parking structure.

Autumn Dance & Fundraiser ~ October 13 ~ 7:00-10:00 Brea’s Historical Society is sponsoring this fun event. Cost $25 per person. Event includes dancing, appetizers, beer and wind. Family Day ~ October 17, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Brea’s Family Resource Center has something for everyone. This time has been set aside for families to preview a variety of programs including parenting classes, financial counseling and citizenship classes. This is another FREE event which included food arts, crafts, games, face painting and skateboarding demonstrations. Something for everyone, right? Call (714) 990-7150 for more info. BT Cruisers ~ Brea’s Senior Travel Group Tour ~ October 16-17,. BT Cruisers is a group open to all over the age of 55. Seniors will have a fun time on this overnight trip to Buffalo Bills at State-line. Cost is $75 -$85 including transportation and gratuity. All events are coordinated by the Brea Senior Center. June 9 ~ 10 Flower Garden & Fine Art Show ~ Mission San Juan Capistrano.

This popular event is held each year in June on the 10 acre grounds of the historic California Mission,  Once there you will find exhibits of flowers, plants, gardening items, a wide variety of crafts, art and wonderful music.

Plan a Bake Sale in Your Area!

Share Our Strength is teaming up with the folks at the Food Network to promote a nationwide campaign, now through August 31^st for a Great American Bake Sale in your area. Do you have an organization, church, or maybe a scout or youth group? Round them up to participate by organizing a  bake sale  in your community.

Now through May 20 ~ Philharmonic House Tour of Design for 2007. This spectacular event is held annually beginning in April 24, and continues through May 20. May 12 ~ Down South in Encinitas, CA.- Celebrate Mother’s Day week-end, and make chocolate your friend at this special tasting, cooking demonstrations and a chocolate foundation and more at the fun event. Bring the kids for children’s activities and entertainment. Plant sales and Mother’s Day gifts will be available. May 12 ~Fullerton, CA.FIES ~ Fullerton Interfaith Emergency Services presents Food-Loving Guys raising money for FIES. Enjoy and evening of appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. In addition guests can explore up to 300 spectacularly restored cars included those of .Howard Hughes, Rita Hayworth and Clark Gable. Location 1045 South East Street at Astor Classics Museum. May 19 ~ Ladera Ranch, South Orange County “Taste of Ladera” for community and family fun. 11-7 at the Town Green, Sienna and Mercantile Dr. just off Crown Valley Pkwy in Ladera Ranch. Admission is FREE and the public is welcome to this great event, it’s the third-annual! Food and fun tickets $3 each. One dollar is returned to Ladera’s local non-profits. May 20 ~ Annual Sicilian Festival takes place in San Diego’s Little Italy. This popular event features costumed performers and traditional ethnic costumes and assorted food vendors.
